Whole Beans, Drip Grind and French Press Coffee - What's the Diff ?

WHOLE BEANS
Whole bean coffee are coffee beans that are whole and not broken or ground in any way. This is always the most preferred way of consuming coffee as it best preserves the flavours and oils in the coffee beans, which guarantees freshness.
As whole beans have less surface area, it protects the coffee from oxygen until it is ground at the time of brewing. When purchasing whole bean coffee you are trading the convenience of ‘pre-ground’ coffee for a better coffee experience, with the understanding that you will have to grind the beans yourself.
Whilst some people consider the added time of grinding the beans for every cup or pot an unwanted burden, many on the other hand do enjoy the aroma of fresh ground beans and view the grinding process as a welcome part of the coffee brewing experience.
DRIP GRIND
Drip Grind coffee is basically coffee that is fine ground for use in filter coffee makers, in which the brewed coffee drips through filter into a serving pot. This type of grind works best in an auto-drip coffee maker.
If you have a drip maker that has a “cone” shaped filter (paper or gold cone), this coffee grind would be a perfect fit for it as it's finely ground texture is optimum to derive the flavours from the coffee.
Idecaf Coffee's drip ground coffee are immediately vacuum sealed immediately after grinding, protecting the ground coffee from oxidation. This retains the freshness and aroma of the ground coffee until just before you brew it at home.
FRENCH PRESS
A French press is essentially also known as a cafetière, press pot or coffee plunger, and is a coffee brewing device. The modern French press consists of a narrow cylindrical beaker, made of glass or clear plastic, and equipped with a metal or plastic lid and plunger that fits tightly in the cylinder.
A French press works best with coffee of a coarser grind than does a drip brew coffee filter.
